MINUTES OF THE HOUSE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jim Morrison at 1:30 P.M. on January 24, 2006, in Room 526-S of the Capitol.

All members were present except Representatives Landwehr and Kilpatrick.

The committee minutes for 1-19-2006 were approved.

The Chair announced that 28 bills have been referred to the committee. 

The Chair welcomed Bud Burke, representing the Kansas Physical Therapists Association, who requested the committee sponsor a bill that will provide a patient with direct access to a physical therapist.  The request was approved.  (Motion, Representative Bethel; second, Representative Trimmer)

Bob Bethell requested the committee sponsor a bill to create a statewide repository for certain end-of-life documents (living will, durable power of attorney, other advance directives) would be accessible to other states.  The request was approved.   (Motion, Representative Holland; second, Representative Kirk)
