7-17-18  Deadline for filing a continua-
tion statement. (a) The first day on which a con-
tinuation statement may be filed shall be six
months preceding the month in which the financ-
ing statement would lapse and corresponding to
the date upon which the financing statement
would lapse. If there is no such corresponding
day, the first day on which a continuation state-
ment may be filed shall be the last day of the sixth
month preceding the month in which the financ-
ing statement would lapse.

 (b) The last day on which a continuation state-
ment may be filed shall be the date upon which
the financing statement lapses. (Authorized by L.
