7-17-8  Notification of defects. Nothing
in these regulations shall be deemed to prevent a
filing officer from communicating to a filer or a
remitter that the filing officer noticed apparent
potential defects in a UCC record, whether or not
the record was filed or refused for filing. How-
ever, the filing office shall be under no obligation
to communicate this information to a filer or re-
mitter. The responsibility for the legal effective-
ness of the filing shall rest with each filer and re-
mitter, and the filing office shall bear none of this
responsibility. (Authorized by and implementing
