The Journal Process

The Secretary of the Senate and the Chief Clerk of the House, through the Journal Clerks, prepare a journal for each legislative day. The Journals are printed overnight by the Kansas Division of Printing and delivered to the Document Room in 145-N at the Statehouse. Each legislator is furnished daily with a printed copy of the journal of the previous day. Journals are also distributed to staff members, the media, and the general public. The Journals are also available for the public on the internet here on this page through Kansas.gov at http://www.kslegislature.org/legsrv-journals/index.do. At the end of the session, the journals for the entire session are published in an indexed volume called the Senate or House Permanent Journal. The individual journals are archived and available online by date here ( http://www.kslegislature.org/legsrv-journals/index.do).
