Chairperson Campbell opened the hearing on HB 2324 and recognized Jason Long, Senior Assistant Revisor, who gave an overview of the bill.(Attachment 1)

Representative Ed Trimmer, 79th District, Kansas House of Representatives, was acknowledged by Chairperson Campbell and appeared as a proponent for HB 2324.(Attachment 2)  Questions were asked by Representatives Aurand and Karlesknit.

Mark Tallman, Associate Executive Director for Advocacy, Kansas Association of School Boards, was a proponent of this bill.(Attachment 3)  Questions were asked by Representatives Schwab, Rooker, Trimmer, and Sawyer.

Mark Desetti, Kansas National Education Association, was another proponent of HB 2324.(Attachment 4)  There were no questions for this conferee.

Written-only proponent testimony was submitted by the Kansas Parent Teacher Association.(Attachment 5)

HB 2324 was opposed by Dave Trabert, President, Kansas Policy Institute.(Attachment 6)  Questions were asked by Representatives Jones, Rooker, and Chairperson Campbell.

Three opponents submitted written-only testimony in opposition to HB 2324:

Presenting neutral testimony was Jim Freeman, Retired School Business Official (Attachment 10)  There were no questions.

There being no further testimony, Chairperson Campbell closed the hearing on HB 2324.
