Natalie Scott gave an overview of SB42.
Melissa Johnson, Assistant Attorney General, testified in support of SB42 on behalf of the Office of the Attorney General. Johnson stated the passage of this bill will provide clarity for Kansas courts in determining the sentences for some of the most serious offenses in Kansas, and we believe that it would clarify the original legislative intent. (Attachment 1)
