Short Title

Authorizing the governor to enter into the great plains interstate fire compact.

Minutes Content for Tue, Mar 14, 2017

The Chairperson opened the hearing on HB2140.

Rodney Redinger gave an example of the Anderson Creek fire where the absence of a Compact meant that coordination of resources from outside the state of Kansas was challenging, and nearly impossible.(Attachment  6)

Representative Melissa Rooker spoke in support of the compact (Attachment  7).

Kevin Flory supplied written testimony supporting HB 2140.  (Attachment  8)

Doug Schmitt supplied written testimony supporting HB 2140. (Attachment  9)

George F. Geissler supplied written testimony supporting HB 2140 (Attachment  10).

Chairperson LaTurner closed the hearing on HB 2140.
