Chairperson Tyson opened a hearing on SB211.

Adam Siebers presented to the Committee an explanation of SB211.  He stood for questions.

James Quillen presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB211 by saying "this bill will incentivize private sector companies to contract . . . with qualified state use law vendors or . . . organizations, opening up additional opportunities for employment for people with disabilities".  (Attachment 21) He stood for questions.

Patrick Jonas presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB211 by emphasizing how "a tax credit incentive to private sector companies that outsource to non-profits who competitively employ people with disabilities would be a great step".  (Attachment 22) He stood for questions.

Tim Wood presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB211 because it adds to "a broad array of services options in the [integrated] employment arena for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities". (Attachment 23) He stood for questions.

Colin McKenney presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB211 because "as written, this incentive is tied directly to efforts to introduce gainful employment with benefits in place of programs and services that are funded with state and federal dollars".  (Attachment 24)  He stood for questions.

Written only testimony presented to the Committee in support of SB211 was provided by Doug Wisby, MCDS (Attachment 25); Natalie Bright, on behalf of Coalition for Opportunity (Attachment 26); and Rick Cagan, NAMI (Attachment 27).

No testimony neutral to SB211 was presented to the Committee.

Mike Burgess presented testimony to the Committee in opposition to SB211 by offering two amendments to the bill.  (Attachment 28) He stood for questions.

When all questions from the Committee were answered,  Chairperson Tyson closed the hearing on SB211.
