Dennis Stugelmeyer, Director of Fiscal Services, Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 3). The old gym is currently being used as cold storage for primarily outdated equipment. The authorized sale of this building would result in monetary savings and provide funds for a new chiller tothe campus. In response to questions by committee members, he stated that the monetary savings would be realized with utility costs of approximately $2,500 a year and recent plumbing repairs of $2,100. The property was appraised in 2014 at a value of $250,000. Shirley Murrow, Legislative Research Department, responded that proceeds from the sale of this property would go into the restricted fee fund.
Chairman Waymaster closed the hearing on the bill.
