Chairman Sutton called for approval of minutes from the committee meetings on February 19th, 21st and 22nd. Representative Parker moved to approve the minutes, Representative Dove second, it passed.
Chairman Sutton opened the Hearing on SB7. Revisor Mike Heim, Office of Revisor of Statutes gave a overview of the bill.
Senator Tom Hawk spoke to the bill as a proponent. he stated it would give more local control to set dates for election for officer election.(Attachment 1)
Leah Fliter spoke as neutral for KASB. She stated that the lag time between election and taking office would be corrected by this bill.(Attachment 2)
Written only proponent testimony was submitted by Karla Hagemeister.(Attachment 3) There was no opponent testimony. Chairman Sutton closed the hearing on SB7.
