Chairperson Patton opened the hearing on HB2446.

Natalie Scott provided an overview of HB2446. Ms.Scott stood for questions. (Attachment 1)

Ed Klump provided testimony in support of HB2446.  Mr. Klump stated this bill hopes to resolve several issues with current KSA 22-2512.  Changes that are procedural issues but will preserve the most critical provision in the current law. He stood for questions. (Attachment 2)

Sara Washburn provided testimony in support of HB2446.  Ms. Washburn explained that is bill will address the rights of citizens rights of citizens and protect the health and safety of employees dealing with the collection and storage of seized property. She stood for questions. (Attachment 3)

John Goodyear provided testimony in support of HB2446.  Mr. Goodyear said the bill will solve a problem faced by many law enforcement entities regarding the storage of seized materials. Particularly those of dangerous drugs and stolen weapons. He stood for questions. (Attachment 4)
