Chairperson McGinn opened the hearing on SB 258. Scott Abbott provided and overview of the bill. (Attachment 8)
Justin Stowe, Legislative Post Audit, spoke in support of the bill. Legislative Post Audit used to have a limited role in financial audits. In 2018 a new law was passed transferring oversight of several financial and compliance audits to the Department of Administration. However, some agencies are still required by statute to provide certain financial reports to Legislative Post Audit. This bill cleans up that requirement as they are no longer needed. (Attachment 9)
There being no further conferees, Chairperson McGinn closed the hearing on SB 258.
