Staff briefed the Committee on the contents of this bill. (Attachment 6)

The Chairman recognized Representative Suzi Carlson as the first proponent.  (Attachment 7) According to Representative Carlson, Private First Class Loren H. Larson served in the 1st Calvary Division in the 2nd Battalion, 5th Calvary, E Company.  He was killed in action on June 20, 1969. She said the bridge is a symbol of strength, honor and respect and becomes part of the fallen warrior's legacy and history.  She requested that the bridge located on US highway 77 in Riley County be designated as the PFC Loren H. Larson Memorial Bridge.

There were no other proponents, opponents or neutrals so the Chairman closed the hearing on HB2132.

Announcements

Chairman Proehl announced that the next Committee meeting will be on February 11th.  The Committee will hear HB2193 and have Final Action on:  HB2015, HB2166, HB2169 and HB2194.
