47-653f. Same; payment of owner; limitations, conditions and procedure. On presentation to the animal health commissioner of acceptable evidence that disposition of such swine has been made in the prescribed manner, the owner of such swine shall be entitled to indemnity, to be paid by the state, in an amount equal to the amount of indemnity paid by the federal government for such destruction of swine.  Such indemnification by the state shall not exceed $40 per head for grade swine and shall not exceed $60 per head for purebred swine.  Indemnities shall not be paid on swine which have been brought or moved into Kansas in violation of the import regulations of this state and indemnity shall not be paid on any swine which have been allowed to mingle with swine so brought or moved into Kansas.

Indemnification payments shall be made from legislative appropriations for such purpose to the animal health commissioner. The director of accounts and reports is hereby authorized and directed to draw warrants upon the state treasurer for the amounts and for the purposes provided herein upon duly executed vouchers approved by the animal health commissioner.
