The Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol stated that the passage of SB 84 would allow those appointed to the rank of major to be afforded the same deference currently allowed for superintendents and assistant superintendents and allow those appointed to the rank of major to remain classified employees.(Attachment 2)
