Vice-Chairperson Barbara Bollier called the meeting to order. She introduced Sarah Dooley, who is shadowing her today.

Vice-Chairperson Bollier opened the hearing on HB2121.

Norm Furse, Staff Revisor, gave an overview of the bill and answered a question from Senator Laura Kelly. He distributed an amendment which adds "to a person"  in line 7, Section 1.

Representative John Eplee testified in support of HB2121 stating that in passing this bill it would create a central registry of all vaccines; preventing duplication, giving vaccines too soon or missing opportunities to administer needed vaccines. Representative Eplee then answered questions from the Committee. (Attachment 1)

Jennifer VandeVelde presented testimony in support of HB2121. She stated that passage of this bill would help provide critical and necessary information regarding vaccines in the State of Kansas. Her testimony was followed up by questions from the Committee. (Attachment 2)

Supporting testimony was then given by Rachelle Colombo by stating that passing this bill would ensure that all vaccinations administered in the state are reported to the central immunization registry maintained by KDHE, WebIZ. She then answered questions from the Committee. (Attachment 3)

Dr. Jody Reel testified in support of HB2121 saying that HB2121 requires anyone authorized to administer vaccines in the state to report all vaccines to the state immunization registry. (Attachment 4)
