Chairman Waymaster opened the hearing on the bill.
Scott Abbott, Office of the Revisor of Statutes, provided the bill brief (Attachment 2). The bill establishes an alcoholic beverage control modernization fee and an alcoholic beverage control modernization fund.
Debbie Beavers, Director, Alcoholic Beverage Control Division, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 3).
Ms. Beavers responded to questions from committee members . She stated that the modernization fee would be an on-going fee for upgrades and reoccurring licensing fees.
R.E. Tuck Duncan, Kansas Wine & Spirits wholesalers Association, presented testimony as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 4).
Mr. Duncan responded to questions from committee members. He stated that each premise would be required to obtain a separate license for each location, as required by statutes.
Chairman Waymaster closed the hearing on the bill.
