Chairperson Schmidt brought the Committee's attention to a handout that was distributed about Kratom that had been provided by Katie Whisman of the KBI. (Attachment 1).
SB282, as amended would add several drugs, including Kratom and modify drug classes to the schedules of controlled substances. The bill would be in effect upon publication in the Kansas Register.
Senator Bollier moved to adopt, Senator Berger seconded, to recommend SB282, as amended, to make it effective, when published in the Kansas Federal Register, favorably for passage. Motion carried.
