Chairman Wilborn opened the hearing on HB2603 - Providing that the service of postrelease supervision period shall not toll except as otherwise provided by law.  Jenna provided an overview of the bill and answered questions from the committee. (Attachment 6)

Tim Madden spoke in favor of HB2603 as a means of avoiding double credit for jail time when sentences for separate crimes are to be served consecutively. (Attachment 7) Mr. Madden answered questions from committee members.

Kim Parker offered neutral testimony on HB2603 and commented the bill would effect a major public policy change.  She expressed concern the bill could be in conflict with Department of Correction interpretations and with court rulings. (Attachment 8) Ms. Parker answered questions from committee members. 

The Chairman closed the hearing on HB2603.
