Minutes for SB375 - Committee on Transportation

Short Title

Relating to the maximum length of certain vehicle combinations.

Staff explained the bill to the Members.  There were no questions.

The Chairman recognized Josh Powell. (Attachment 1) According to Mr. Powell, the KS Department of Transportation requested the amendment to this statute to bring Kansas into compliance with federal law.  This amendment sets forth a length of 82 feet for towaway trailer transporter combinations consisting of a trailer transporter towing unit of two trailers or semitrailers with a total weight not exceeding 26,000 pounds.

Mr. Powell stood for questions.  There were no other proponents, no opponents and no neutrals, so Chairman Proehl closed the Hearing on SB375 and opened the Hearing on SB391.
