Sales tax exemption for sales of farm products sold at farmers' markets.

Mr. Wells provided an overview on HB2668 stating it would provide a sales tax exemption for all sales of farms products sold at farmers' markets.  Both the terms farm products and farmers' market are defined in the bill.  The sales tax exemption would not apply to any person or entity with an estimated total annual sale of $25,000 or more from participating in Farmers' markets.  Mr. Wells stood for questions from the Committee.

Representative Jeff Pittman testified as a proponent for HB2668 stating it is an economic incentive program for small farmers who are the backbone of the Kansas economy (Attachment 8).  Representative Pittman stood for questions from the Committee.

Bill Kromer, President, Leavenworth Farmers' Market testified as a proponent for HB2668 (Attachment 9).   Mr. Kromer stood for questions from the Committee.

Ralph Reida, Beekeeper, Farmers' Market Vendor testified as a proponent for HB2668 (Attachment 10).  Mr. Reida stood for questions from the Committee.
