Chairperson Schmidt opened the hearing on SB436.
Chairperson Schmidt explained that SB311 had originally passed out of this committee to the Senate but did not receive action. SB436 replaces SB311 and is the exact same bill that was approved to advance to the Senate floor. Individuals that had previously testified did not have to submit any additional testimony.
Written proponent testimony was submitted by Carolyn Gaughan, CAE, Executive Vice President of Kansas Academy of Family Physicians. (Attachment 5)
Chairperson Schmidt asked for a motion to move SB436 to the full Senate. Senator Bollier moved, Senator Pettey seconded, to recommend SB436 favorably for passage. Motion carried.
