Natalie Scott gave a brief overview of HB2018

Representative Jennings explained an amendment (Attachment 2) he offered to amend HB2018 that would delete the contents of HB2018 and would replace the language with provisions regarding the creation of a Criminal Justice Commission. Representative Jennings reminded he distributed the proposed amendment minus some changes a week ago to the Committee.

Representative Jennings moved to amend Substitute for HB2018 with the Jennings amendment, seconded by Representative Highberger.

Representatives Kuether, Owens, Carmichael, French, Pannbacker had comments and questions.

The motion to amend Substitute for HB2018 passed unanimously.

Representative Carmichael moved Substitute for HB2018 favorably for passage as amended by the Jennings amendment, seconded by Representative French.

The motion passed unanimously to report Substitute for HB2018 favorably for passage as amended by the Jennings amendment.

Representatives Carmichael, French, Highberger, Jennings, Owens, Wiegel, and Wheeler requested their votes of 'Aye' be recorded.

Chairperson Jennings adjourned the meeting.
