Sedgwick county voters, in the 2020 election cycle, may vote on election day at any polling place in the county.

Chairman Sutton opened the hearing on HB 2512.

Mike Heim, staff revisor, briefed the committee on the bill.

The following proponents gave verbal testimony:

  • Jay Hall,proponent stated, access to the polls is an important part of democracy. (Attachment 1)
  • Jim Howell, proponent, stated that last Tuesday's Democratic Caucus in Iowa shows how badly things can go if unproven technology does not work correctly. (Attachment2)
  •  Secretary of State, Scott Schwab, opponent, stated the vote centers are a substantial change to election administration, and we should not be eager to compromise security and trust in our elections. (Attachment 3)
