Staff provided an amendment to clarify private institutions as Not-for-Private, and corrects the language required by the US Department of Education regarding a nationally recognized accrediting agency for higher education in the United States. (Attachment 3)
Senator Givens moved the amendment; Senator Bollier seconded. The motion carried.
Staff provided an amendment that strikes "Bridge Program" and replaces it with "Baccalaureate degree completion program". (Attachment 4)
Senator Braun moved the amendment; Senator Taylor seconded. The motion carried.
Staff provided an amendment to include appropriations and scholarship awards. (Attachment 5)
Senator Braun moved the amendment; Senator Alley seconded. The motion carried.
Staff provided an amendment to include high school equivalency certificate and add a three-year work requirement or repay. (Attachment 6)
Senator Givens moved the amendment; Senator Braun seconded. The motion carried.
Senator Givens moved to pass SB336 out favorably as amended' Senator Taylor seconded. The motion carried.
