Jason Thompson presented a brief on HB2521 explaining that the Revised Uniform Athlete Agents Act as amended by the House committee, includes some new law as well as some revision to existing law. Throughout the bill, provisions from the earlier uniform athlete agents act will be continued, reorganized, or updated without major changes, but a few sections will see new language. (Attachment 7)
The fiscal note presented to the House Committee was provided for the Committee. (Attachment 8)
Libby Snyder spoke in support of HB2561 explaining the revision was needed to safeguard student athletes and their educational institutions by delivering clear and succinct guidelines for athlete agents operating within the state of Kansas. (Attachment 9)
