Chair Jennings opened the hearing on HB2121. Natalie Scott, Assistant Revisor, gave an overview of HB2121. The revisor stood for questions. (Attachment 1)

Scott Schultz submitted a Prison Bed Space Impact Assessment and testified in support of HB2121 stating this bill adds a definition for absconding from supervision differentiating between intentionally avoiding supervision and a failure to report. (Attachment 2) (Attachment 3) Questions presented from the committee were addressed.

Written testimony in support of HB2121 was submitted by Brandon L. Jones, Franklin County Attorney and President of the Kansas County and District Attorney's Association.(Attachment 4)

Chair Jennings called for final questions from the Committee.
