Chairperson Kerschen called for final action on SB143.
Senator Francisco introduced a balloon amendment which she explained.(Attachment 9)
Senator Francisco moved and Senator Ware seconded the adoption of the proposed balloon amendment. Motion carried.
Senator Peck expressed some concern about the 84% fee increase. Discussion followed with Jeff Vogel from the Kansas Department of Agriculture answering questions.
Senator Francisco moved and Senator Ware seconded to amend the bill by changing lines 16 and 17 on page 4 of the bill to from "net worth of $ 25,000 to $50.000." Motion failed.
Senator Doll moved and Senator Francisco seconded to recommend SB143, as amended,favorably for passage. Motion carried.
Chairperson Kerschen thanked the committee members for all of their work during the last few weeks and adjourned the meeting at 9:20.
