Chairperson Hilderbrand opened the hearing on HB2208.

Jenna Moyer, Staff Revisor gave an overview of the bill.

David Fye testified as a proponent by stating that the provisions of HB2208 relating to the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board will allow additional qualified mental health professionals to obtain licensure in Kansas without sacrificing public protection. (Attachment 1)

Elizabeth Patton gave proponent testimony in support of HB2208. She said that HB2208 would ensure Kansas could continue to access lifesaving virtual care long after the pandemic ends and this proposal would permanently authorize physicians licensed in other states to provide telehealth to Kansas residents. (Attachment 2)
