The Chairperson opened the hearing on SB78 and asked David Wiese, Assistant Revisor, Office of the Revisor of Statutes, to provide an overview of the bill. Mr. Wiese responded to Committee questions. (Attachment 1)
Lee Modesitt, Director of Government Affairs and Communication, provided testimony in support of the bill. Mr. Modesitt said that SB78 passed in the Senate by a 39-0 vote, and he noted that it is very similar to HB2136. He stated that primarily, the only difference between the two bills is the definition of what an automobile club service contract is. The other minor changes were done to make the processes more efficient and to clean-up some of the language of the statute. Mr. Modesitt responded to Committee questions. (Attachment 2)
After asking if there were any other conferees and seeing none, Chairperson Johnson closed the hearing on SB78.
