Chairperson Billinger opened the hearing on HB 2248.  Megan Leopold, Legislative Research Department, provided an oral overview of the bill.

Dennis Kriesel, Executive Director, Kansas Association of Local Health Departments, spoke in support of the bill.  It will benefit all health departments and not just the ones in urban counties.  It also removes the need for an annual proviso and has no fiscal impact on the state as this just prepares the system in an increase is included in KDHE's budget.  (Attachment 24)

There being no further conferees, Chairperson Billinger closed the hearing on HB 2248.

Chairperson Billinger adjourned the meeting at 12:27 pm.  The next meeting will be March 25, 2021.
