Adam Siebers, Assistant Revisor provided a brief overview of HB2464  that would permanently enact the sales tax exemption for personal property and services.  The bill provides for a tax exemption for all purchases of personal property and services made to construct, repair, or replace any fence for agricultural land that was damaged or destroyed by wildfires.  This is related to replace, construct any fence that was damaged or destroyed by wildfire that occurred on or after January 1, 2021.

There was Committee discussion regarding SB23 which passed the Senate March 3, 2021 that provides for abatement of property tax for certain buildings or improvements destroyed or greatly destroyed by a natural disaster. 

Representative Mason moved, seconded by Representative Wassinger, the Committee recommend HB2464 favorable for passage.

Representative Smith moved, seconded by Representative Baker to amend HB2464.  Motion passed. (Attachment 2)

Committee discussion ensued.

Representative Mason renewed his motion, seconded by Representative Wassinger, to recommend HB2464 as amended favorable for passage.  Motion passed.
