Chairperson Warren opened the hearing on HB2362.
Jason Thompson, Senior Assistant Revisor, provided an overview of HB2362 and stood for questions. (Attachment 3)
Todd G. Thompson testified in support of HB2362 stating the bill amends the current statute by providing more appropriate sentencing ranges. (Attachment 4)
Mr. Thompson responded to questions from Committee members.
Chairperson Warren passed the gavel to Vice Chairperson Wilborn to preside over the remainder of the meeting.
Alice Osburn testified in support of HB2362 and further requested the Committee add language that would clearly include "burning" as an act of child abuse and define the term "torture" as it relates to child abuse. (Attachment 5)
Ms. Osburn responded to questions from Committee members.
Vice Chair Wilborn closed the hearing on HB2362.
