Chairperson Billinger called for final action on SB 523. David Wiese, Office of the Revisor of Statutes, provided a brief review of the bill.
Chairperson Billinger distributed a balloon amendment and David Wiese discussed the proposed changes. (Attachment 1)
Alan Conroy, Executive Director, KPERS, responded to questions from Committee members.
Senator Claeys moved, Senator Fagg seconded, adoption of the balloon amendment. Motion carried.
Senator Claeys moved, Senator Fagg seconded, to recommend SB 523, as amended, favorably for passage. Motion carried. Senators McGinn, Hawk and Pettey are recorded as voting no.
