Short Title

Providing for the daughters of the American revolution distinctive license plate.

Minutes Content for Tue, Mar 15, 2022

The Chair opened the hearing on HB2483.

Mr. Siebers reviewed the bill by saying it provides for a distinctive license plate to recognize the Daughters of the American Revolution, which like other distinctive license plates would be subject to the 250 initial plate commitment and payment of up to $5000 for development costs (Attachment 5).  He noted  that the Daughters of the American Revolution would be able to set a royalty fee from $25-$100.

Written-only testimony supporting the bill was provided by Susan Metzger, Regent for the Kansas Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Attachment 6).

Responding to a question, Mr. Siebers replied that the bill does not specify whether the royalty fees will go to a local chapter or the national organization.

The Chair closed the hearing on HB2483.
