Chairperson Billinger opened the hearing on HB 2712. David Wiese, Office of the Revisor of Statutes, provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)
Representative Susan Estes, spoke as a proponent of the bill. She remembers the bicentennial as a child and she wants to celebrate our country and promote Kansas products. Kansas was a leader in the nation during the bicentennial and was recognized by the national Commission for our efforts. It is important that we establish this commission soon so can begin planning and fund raising. (Attachment 2)
Written only testimony in support of the bill was submitted by Susan Metzger, Kansas Daughters of the American Revolution. (Attachment 3)
There being no further conferees, Chairperson Billinger closed the hearing on HB 2712.
