Audits in Progress Usually, 3-5 audits are under way at any one time. This section provides you with the approved scope statements or other information about the audits currently under way, as well as those that have been approved but not yet started. Performance AuditsPerformance Audits answer questions raised by individual legislators or legislative committees about potential problem areas in State agencies or programs. To find a performance audit, use the "Audit Search Tool" box at right. Compliance and Control AuditsCompliance and control audits are a specialized type of performance audit that help identify situations in which agencies have poor financial-management practices, or in which their practices don't comply with State law or other requirements. They are done on a three-year schedule approved by the Legislative Post Audit Committee. Financial-Compliance AuditsFinancial-compliance audits provide opinions on the fairness of presentation of agency financial statements. These "traditional" financial audits are conducted by public accounting firms under contract to the Division. |
