Chair Hoheisel opened the hearing on HB 2247, recognized David Wiese, Senior Assistant Revisor, Office of Revisor of Statutes, who provided an overview on HB 2247(Attachment4) No questions.

Proponent - Chair Hoheisel recognized Stacy Tidwell, Deputy Director of Youth Programs, Department of Children and Families, who provided testimony in support of HB 2247. (Attachment5)  A brief question and answer period followed.

Proponent written only - testimony on HB 2247 was provided by Rachel Marsh, CEO, Children's Alliance of Kansas, (Attachment6); and Mariana Gomez, Former Foster Youth of Kansas, (Attachment7).

Neutral - Chair Hoheisel recognized Kelly VanZwoll, Assistant Vice President, Government Relations and Staff Attorney, Kansas Bankers Association who provided neutral testimony regarding HB 2247  along with possible amendment language, (Attachment8) .  A question and and answer period followed.

Chair Hoheisel closed the hearing on HB 2247.

 

Chair Hoheisel announced possible final action of bills previously heard, including HB 2105 and others, at the next Financial Institutions and Pensions committee meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

Chair Hoheisel adjourned the meeting at 9:25 am.
