Susan Gile, Executive Director, Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, provided neutral testimony regarding HB2750 (Attachment 29). The bill poses concerns regarding existing standards and regulations pertaining to the keeping of medical records. The requirements for record keeping were listed. There is a lack of clarity as to how these records are kept for patients, in this case the partners that have not been evaluated by the physicians themselves. The Board recommends further discussion to ensure that the requirements for records meet those outlined in statute. The Board also encourage discussion on ways to verify the infected partners have received the written material.
