Chairman Rahjes opened the hearing on SB 417 and recognized Kyle Hamilton, Revisor, Office of Revisor of Statutes, to give an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1) He stood for questions.
Offering proponent testimony were:
Mark Steffen, M.D., 34th District, Kansas Senate. Senator Steffen supported SB 417 (Attachment 2) and answered questions from the Committee.
Desree Pettera, citizen, also gave proponent testimony (Attachment 3). Ms. Pettera stood for questions.
Written-only proponent testimony was submitted by:
Angel Cushing, Citizen (Attachment 4).
Providing written-only neutral testimony was Brad Loveless, Secretary, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (Attachment 5)
There being no further testimony, Chairperson Rahjes closed the hearing on SB 417.
Chairperson Rahjes announced the Committee would not meet tomorrow. The next meeting of the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
