The Chair opened the hearing on HB2332. Kyle Hamilton, Office of the Revisor of Statues, provided a briefing about HB2332, which is a clean-up bill from 2021 which moved the Division of Tourism from the Department of Wildlife and Parks to the Department of Commerce.(Attachment 12)
Rachel Willis, Director of Legislative Affairs, Kansas Department of Commerce, stood in support of the bill noting it was technical only and the changes were being made to reflect the current names and make up of the agencies.(Attachment 13) She stood for questions.
There was no opponent or neutral testimony.
The Chair closed the hearing on HB2332.
The Chair noted that at the February 15, 2023 meeting, Roger McEowen, Washburn University School of Law, would provide a briefing on foreign ownership of land.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:53 pm.
