Chairwoman Warren open the hearing on SB2. Jason Thompson, Revisor's Office, provided an overview of the bill and stood for questions.(Attachment 1)
Senator Faust- Goudeau testified in support of SB2. She stated the main reason some individuals could not participate in the current program allowing them to receive a restricted license, was due to their 'license revoked' status. (Attachment 2)
Jim Howell testified in support of SB2. He stated SB2 , as amended by Senate Transportation, is a good bill right now but to make it even more effective, would request the committee adopt an amendment incorporating the provisions of SB192. (Attachment 3)
Ed Klumpp testified in support of SB2. Mr. Klumpp stated over the past few years, the law associations have testified on several versions of bills attempting to address concerns with the provisions of K.S.A. 8-2110 involving suspension of driver's licenses for failure to appear and failure to pay related to traffic violations. (Attachment 4)
Chairwoman Warren suspended the hearing on SB2. She stated she needed input from additional resources to continue with the hearing.
