Chairperson Waymaster opened the hearing on SB195.
Revisor Jill Wolters provided information about SB195. It is very similar to HB2191 and authorizes the children's cabinet to form a 501(c)(3) for fundraising for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Book Gifting Program. This bill passed the Senate 39 to 0 on the Consent Calendar on February 22. HB2191 is identical to this legislation, and it passed the House 122 to 0 on February 23. HB2191 had a hearing in Senate Ways and Means on March 6 and passed out of committee on that date and placed on the Consent Calendar. HB2191 could be set for final action either this week or next week in the Senate. Since there are no amendments, the HB2191 would go to the Governor for potential signature. (Attachment 2)
