Senator Bowers introduced Ethan Wirth from Jewell county, he is at the Capital today with the members of the Scholar Bowl. 

Chairwoman Warren opened hearing on HB2675.

Jason Thompson provided an overview of the bill and stood for questions.  (Attachment 3)

Ron Nelson, Kansas Judicial Council, Family Law, provided testimony in support of the bill.  He stated this bill provides a more comprehensive and standardized act to govern nonparent visitation than do the current more open-ended statutes.  (Attachment 4) 

Julie Schwarz, Private Citizen provided testimony in support of this bill.  She advocates for the passage of this legislation as it will mean a more stable, safe and productive family environment for the children you represent.  (Attachment 5)

Written-only testimony was submitted by Joseph Molina, on behalf of Kansas Bar Association, in support of HB2675.  (Attachment 6)

There being no further conferees, Chairwoman Warren closed the hearing on HB2675.
